Are you ready to finally upgrade your Windows XP or Vista PC to Windows 7? Let’s first make sure your computer can handle Windows 7! Follow these steps to find out how Windows 7 will work on your computer:

  1. Visit http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor and download the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. image
  2. Before you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, be sure to plug in all the hardware you plan to use with Windows 7(keyboard, mouse, printer, etc.). That way, the Advisor can give you the most accurate results.
  3. Once the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor finishes, you will get a report of what will and what will not work with Windows 7. Don’t worry though, many hardware providers have updated drivers that may work with Windows 7.

If you are upgrading from Windows Vista, you shouldn’t have any problems upgrading to Windows 7. Upgrading from Windows XP is a different story though, so be sure to run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before you purchase Windows 7!
