As we draw near to the launch date of Mass Effect 2 on January 26, critics weigh in on the highly anticipated Xbox 360 title. Is it worthy of your 60 bucks?

Based on the reviews at metacritic.com, the average reviews so far rank it at a whopping 98 at the time of this writing. Insane! IGN.com gave the sequel to Mass Effect a 9.6, while the Official Xbox Magazine gives it a 9.5.

There are still plenty of sites that haven’t reviews Mass Effect 2 yet, such as GameSpot  and Game Informer. The bottom line: Mass Effect 2 seems to be a must-have game. Period.
