If you have a friend or family member that has a Windows 7 disk, you can install Windows 7 on your personal computer with no problems. However, after 30 days, you will be out of luck. You need to activate your Windows 7 with a key, that usually costs about 100 bucks. Of course the title of this article is “Try Windows 7 Free for 120 Days”, so here is the secret to extending that 30 day trial to 120 days!

1. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories. Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run As Administrator. Enter your administrator password.
2. Type the following command and press Enter:
   slmgr -rearm
   NOTE: There is a space after slmgr and the hyphen in front of rearm.
3. Restart your computer.

After you restart your computer, click Start, then right-click “Computer” and then click “Properties”. You will notice that your trial has been extended another 30 days! You can do this trick three times in total, equaling 120 days. Cool right?!

Yes this trick is completely legit, so don’t worry about anything! Just be sure to do this trick at the very end of each 30-day trial.
